Water & Sanitation
Volta Region, Ghana
Providing sustainable access to clean drinking water, constructing community-managed water points, and reducing water-borne diseases through hygiene promotion and community-led sanitation campaigns.
Our Water & Sanitation Programme
Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, yet millions of people in rural Ghana still lack reliable, safe water sources. The Richsel Legacy Foundation is committed to changing this reality — one community at a time.
What We Do
- Community-Managed Water Points: We construct boreholes and hand-pump wells in underserved communities, ensuring that every water point is managed by a trained local committee for long-term sustainability.
- Hygiene Promotion: Our Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) campaigns educate families on handwashing, safe water storage, and household sanitation practices.
- Water-Borne Disease Reduction: By improving water quality and sanitation infrastructure, we directly reduce the incidence of cholera, typhoid, and other preventable diseases.
Our Impact
Through partnerships with local government and community leaders, we have provided clean water access to thousands of people across the Volta Region, significantly reducing the burden of waterborne illness on families and healthcare systems.
